What does an engine with a turbocharger rely on to produce power?

What does the engine of a turbocharger rely on to produce power?

One of the direct consequences of a blocked supercharger runner is that it increases the resistance of the airflow in the system. When the diesel engine is running, the gas flow route of the booster system is: compressor inlet filter and silencer → compressor impeller → compressor diffuser → air cooler → air sweep box → diesel engine inlet (valve) → exhaust (valve) → exhaust pipe → exhaust turbine nozzle ring → exhaust turbine impeller → chimney.

The flow area of each of these components is fixed. If any of the above flow routes are blocked, such as dirt, carbonization, deformation, etc., the back pressure of the compressor will increase and the flow rate will decrease due to the increase in flow resistance, causing wheezing. One of the easily dirty parts is the compressor inlet filter, compressor impeller and diffuser, air cooler, diesel engine inlet (sweep) and exhaust port (valve), exhaust gas turbine nozzle ring, exhaust gas turbine impeller. Usually, the blockage of the turbocharger airflow passage is the main cause of its wheezing.

The engine of a mechanical turbocharger cannot be turned off immediately after a long period of high speed operation. When the engine is working, a part of the oil is supplied to the turbocharger rotor bearings for lubrication and for cooling. Is running after the engine suddenly stopped, oil pressure quickly fell to zero, the high temperature of the turbocharger part of the turbo to the middle, bearing support shell in the heat can not be quickly taken away, while the turbocharger rotor is still in the inertia of high-speed rotation, therefore, the engine hot engine state if the sudden stop, will cause the turbocharger stagnant oil overheating and damage to the bearings and shaft. It is especially important to prevent the engine from suddenly shutting down after a few feet of throttle.
